Common Breast Augmentation Questions and Risks

By Billings Farnsworth

If you are thinking about getting a breast implant, you need to take a couple things into consideration first. Are you the correct person for a breast augmentation? You will need to take a test online that will ask you questions and give you some information on the possible problems that can occur while getting breast implants.

One suggestion is that if you haven't had kids yet and are planning to have them in the future. If this is the case, you probably shouldn't get breast implants because they will not allow you to breast feed your child. So if this is something you hope to do in the future wait for your breast augmentation surgery until after you are done with breast feeding.

You may also experience a less sensitive nipple; this is due to some nerves being cut to open the skin up for the placement of the implant. This is just a side effect of what will happen. And, in most cases, women don't loose all feeling in their nipples; just part of it.

Or you may have problem with scar tissue buildup; especially since most breast augmentation procedures need to be redone every ten years or so. Again, this is just a side effect of some surgeries. Another possible side effect is that your mammograms may also be blocked by the surgery. So they will not be able to do a proper mammogram.

You will also need to decide between the types of breast implants you will want to put into your body. Your choices are basically saline or silicone. The saline implants are basically salt water, and if they burst inside of you the body will easily absorb the substance. Silicone gel, on the other hand, will not be absorbed into the body and may cause several health problems. Fortunately, with the advancements of medical technology the chances of bursting are much lower then they use to be.

Whether or not you decide that breast augmentation could be a good choice, you will still need to go to a doctor to discuss what the different options are and how they will affect you. The doctor is the best person to discuss any of your questions with. He has years of experience that you should rely on. Before you go in for your appointment, make sure you have a list of questions that you want to ask the doctor. In doing this you will ensure that you have your questions answered and then you can go home and make an informed decision on whether to get a breast augmentation or not. Good luck in your decision making.
