Cosmetic Surgery - Going Too Far?

By James P Wilkinson

Cosmetic surgery is certainly a newsworthy topic and is usually talked about quite extensively in glossy magazines, amongst other forms of written media. Amongst the success stories there will invariably be talk of those who have taken it too far or suffered due to mistakes made by inexperienced surgeons. Just how do you know when you're going too far?

If we take the case of celebrity Leslie Ash, whose story appeared quite publicly across the media, we see someone who wanted to improve their appearance to lengthen their stay in the limelight with disastrous effects.

This incident was now well over 6 years ago and in a recent interview the star was quoted as saying she had learnt to thoroughly research a procedure and search out a reputable surgeon and this is indeed sound advice and something I would urge anyone considering cosmetic surgery to do.

A little bit of work here and there can just be seen as maintenance, after all, when the paintwork in your home starts to look a little worse for wear you give it a fresh coat.

If you opt for procedures such as face lifts, eye bag removal surgery and breast augmentation you can keep your appearance looking fresh and youthful without appearing to have gone too far and this is indeed where you should stop at.

Before you opt for any procedure it is worth remembering that once you have started turning back the clock you'll need to keep at it if you want to stay looking youthful so you should ensure that your lifestyle and diet compliment to ensure you cause as little further damage as possible. One of the most important ways to care for your skin is sun protection. By wearing a factor 15 day moisturiser, even in winter, you will minimise the amount of damage caused to the skin by exposure to the sun. This is one of the main causes of so called aging of the skin.

Remember, always follow the old adage; "less is more" when it comes to what cosmetic surgery procedures you consider.

One final piece of advice when considering cosmetic surgery; always look for a cosmetic surgeon with many years of experience and good feedback. A good tip is to search on the internet for search terms such as cosmetic surgery uk.
